Shipping and delivery

This page sets out how orders are packed, when they leave, and what happens when something goes wrong in transit. Delivery estimates on this site are targets rather than guarantees unless a specific guaranteed service has been purchased.

Dispatch

The current customer-facing target for UK delivery is 3 to 5 working days from order to doorstep. Orders are picked and packed in order of receipt. Where an item is awaiting batch documentation, the order is held and you are told before it ships rather than after.

Tracking

Tracking details are emailed when the parcel is handed to the carrier, not when the order is placed. If you have an order confirmation but no dispatch email, the order has not yet left us.

Packaging

Vials are packed in a rigid outer carton with protective infill. The outer carton carries the catalogue number, lot number and the supplier details required for a laboratory material. Parcels are labelled for their contents as required by the carrier and by law; they are not labelled in a way that describes the contents to anyone handling the parcel in transit.

Damaged or missing parcels

Check the parcel on arrival. If the outer carton is damaged, or a vial seal is compromised, photograph it before unpacking further and contact us the same working day. Photographs taken at the point of delivery are the difference between a straightforward replacement and a disputed claim.

If tracking shows a parcel as delivered and you have not received it, tell us within three working days so a carrier enquiry can be opened while the evidence is still available.

International orders

Before ordering from outside the United Kingdom, you must satisfy yourself that the material may lawfully be imported and held in the destination country. Import restrictions on research chemicals vary considerably and are the responsibility of the buyer. Customs charges, import duties, inspection delays and seizure by a destination customs authority are outside our control and are not grounds for refund.

We may decline an international order where we are not satisfied that it can lawfully be fulfilled.
